Celebrate Valentine’s Day, The Urbane Way

Urbane Dining Destinations
13 February 2019

Here ya go! A list to help you put something together for Valentine’s Day. We’re not sure how we feel about this day, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Ambivalence aside, shoot down to the list below if you’re interested in some good spots for tomorrow night.

Tony’s

Escape to Naples without leaving town and experience world-class service and classic, yet contemporary Italian fares at one of Houston’s most storied establishments. Tony’s has three dinner seatings this Thursday night so definitely make a reservation if you’re interested in pulling out all the stops for your significant other. Stay classy, Houston, at just $85 per person. And with The Urbane 20% that’s a pretty fine price to take home the gold this Valentine’s Day.

Visit tonyshouston.com for more details and their Valentine’s Day menu. Make a reservation through The Urbane App, through Resy, or by calling Tony’s at (713) 622-6778.

La Table

Looking to go north of Naples? Tack west on your trip up north and you’ll hit France - and more importantly, Paris, the city of love. It’s Valentine’s Day and if you’re celebrating love tomorrow night, why not celebrate with some Parisian romance at La Table. You’ll dine upstairs at Château with a special prix fixe menu that includes light and carefully sourced French fares, such as oysters on the half shell. Scientists says oysters really are nature’s aphrodisiac. So it’s a win-win-win.

Interested in playing things a little more low-key than dining at a château? Head downstairs to La Table’s bistro-style Marché. A more casual setting with à la carte offerings, kind of like an after-hours bakery with wine and delicious food and all the dessert perks that come with having dinner at a bakery. Take your assorted macarons first, we’re not here to judge.

Visit latablehouston.com for their Valentine’s Day menu. Make a reservation through The Urbane App, through OpenTable, or by calling La Table at (713) 439-1000.

Emmaline

The above sounds nice, but maybe what you’re really looking for is a good kiss below an age-old oak tree decorated with hanging lanterns that might as well spell out romance. That doesn’t sound half-bad to us, either. Emmaline has the romance—the glow from the lanterns outside and the candles inside, its creaking wood floor and worn wicker chairs, it’s dark but it’s not too dark. Pair that incredible ambiance with a nice red—nights like this don’t come along all too often.

Visit dineemmaline.com to see their Valentine’s Day menu. Make a reservation through The Urbane App, through OpenTable, or by calling Emmaline at (713) 523-3210.

The Grove

Work has you on lockdown, but you think you can escape at least for a bit to get in some love celebration? The Grove to the rescue. With a three-course couples dinner served family style for $100, it’s a love celebration without the “hassle.” Up the romance level with a walk after dinner around Discovery Green - The Grove’s location at the south end of Houston’s 11.8-acre urban park is pretty prime for a little digestif exercise.

Visit thegrovehouston.com for their Valentine’s Day menu. Make a reservation through The Urbane App, through OpenTable, or by calling The Grove at (713) 337-7321.

Le Colonial

Oh. Safari time? Always a yes. Boot up and into the jungle we go. Push back the banana leaves and step inside of Le Colonial. It’s French Colonial Southeast Asia, but if we’re being honest...we can’t help but channel Meryl’s Out of Africa excellence. Cheers to you, Meryl. YGG. Now back to Le Colonial - incredible atmosphere, incredible food, incredible service, and an incredibly convenient location to catch a flick at iPic after dinner. We shouldn’t have to say more.

Make a reservation through The Urbane App, through OpenTable, by calling Le Colonial at (713) 629-4444, or visiting lecolonialhouston.com.

B&B Butchers

Last, but for sure not least: B&B Butchers. Always the innovator, Benjamin Berg is serving us with some options. Numero uno, wine & dine your significant other at B&B’s Washington location. You already know it’s our favorite steakhouse in Houston. Numero dos, enjoy B&B dining in the comfort of your own home. Light some candles, dim the overheads, and enjoy B&B’s Valentine’s Day Dinner To Go menu. They’ll do the cooking, you’ll do the enjoying.
